A feather and its meaning

Walking to the store this evening,
I came upon this feather.
One of my friends believes a feather is an omen of "good things to come."
Another, whose mother has passed away, sees it as a sign that her mother loves her.
I like those ideas a lot more than
"This feather probably fell off of a diseased bird."

  1. So much better! Could never resist bringing every stray feather home, only to be met with "This feather probably . . . "

  2. While reading the caption of your post, the theme song from Forrest Gump played in my head. I used to love to run the soft feather tips across my check as a kid; never thought about the whole germ factor. I don't think germs were the same back then. My mom never followed me around with antibacterial hand soap or gasped when I drank from the garden hose....
